This pasta recipe uses whole grain pasta. From the picture, I can't tell the difference between this whole grain penne and the typical penne. They look, and almost taste the same to me. The whole grain version has a bit denser texture, and an earthier flavor that I prefer. Although, I'm sure die-hard pasta eaters might disagree with
