I get emotional every time I see this recipe in my collection. Irina shared it with me many years ago. Irina, my friend... She loved this recipe and used to make it very often. I chose to make the doughnuts today as we recently  remembered Irina's birthday. She passed away two years ago while battling breast cancer.
