Pepparkaka, or Swedish gingerbread crackers, are a typical Christmas treat in Scandinavian countries. In most cases, they are purchased rather than homemade and can be found in grocery stores year-round. Although they can be eaten alone, many Swedes have taken to topping their pepparkaka with ädelost, or blue cheese. It may sounds like a strange combination, but the way that the flavors complement one another is surprisingly amazing.
