I love having friends over for dinner parties. I hate standing in front of the cooker while everyone is else having fun. People occasionally pop into the kitchen, offering obligatory words of encouragement. But the party is never centred around the kitchen -unless it's actually a "cooking party". Although, in my experience "cooking parties"
