Actually this cake is called the French Financier apple cake because of the Beurre Noisette (which is just fancy French for browned butter) adds a wonderful nutty flavor to almost everything. I was so excited when I found out about this unique apple cake by the renowned pastry chef François Payard. The brown butter flavor is gorgeous
