My Aunt Pam gave us California dates for Christmas.  It was an incredible gift because they get them fresh and local to where they live.  I made my Mom's recipe for date nut bread with some of these dates.  I doubled my recipe to make 8 loaves.  I like to double my batches and freeze the loaves.  They freeze beautifully.
