Cachaça isn't the most well-known sugarcane spirit. Pretty much every other style of rum is more well-known. If you've heard of it, chances are it's because you've had it in the national drink of Brazil, the caipirinha. Production of cachaça is similar to that of rhum agricole in that it's made with fresh-pressed cane juice.
