Fresh Autumn apples are caramelized with maple syrup then topped with a buttermilk, cinnamon cake batter and baked until golden, the only thing to make it better is vanilla ice cream. Your whole house smells amazing while it bakes! If you have a cast-iron skillet, now is the time to use it, if not a 10-inch cake pan works just fine.
