Semlor are traditional sweet buns filled with almond paste and sweetened whipped cream. These buns are the most desired of all baked goods during winter time and they are traditionally eaten on "Fat Tuesday"or Pancake Day/Shrove Tuesday/Mardi Gras at the beginning of lent. Actually semlor is the plural and one of these buns is called semla.
